Brexit: David Davis returns to Brussels to conclude latest round of negotiations

David Davis returns to Brussels on Thursday to continue the latest round of negotiations on the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The Brexit Secretary and Chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier will conclude four days of talks – which are believed to focus on citizens’ rights, the Irish Border, and Euratom – in the Belgian capital.

It’s thought the two used this round of discussion to understand the opposing position, and final agreement on the discussed issues is understood to be unlikely.

A press conference is expected to be held by Davis and Barnier, although this is unconfirmed.

Both representatives aim to reach a conclusive agreement over a financial settlement by October.
