Poll: Trump’s impeachment is supported by more Americans than Nixon’s resignation after Watergate

The number of Americans wishing to impeach US President Donald Trump exceeds the number of citizens who favored impeachment of the 37th head of state Richard Nixon in connection with the Watergate scandal. This is evidenced by the survey data of the research institute of the University of Monmouth.
As The Independent writes with reference to the research materials, the trend is observed both among Americans with republican and democratic views.

It is noted that among the Republicans Trump’s impeachment is supported by 12%, while Nixon’s resignation was 7%. Among Democrats, Tramp’s resignation is desired by 70%, while Nixon’s departure from the presidency was 34%.

In general, Trump’s impeachment is supported by 41%, and Nixon’s impeachment is 24%.

Earlier, US congressmen-democrats Brad Sherman and Al Greene put forward the initiative of Trump’s impeachment.
