US Drone Spotted Over Donbass Carries Out Flights ‘Almost Every Month’ – LPR

The US drone reportedly seen flying over the contact line in Donbass this weekend carries out flights over eastern Ukraine “almost every month,” the spokesman for the Luhansk People’s Republic’s (LPR) militia, Andrey Marochko, said on Monday.

LUHANSK (Sputnik) – According to media reports, a US RQ-4A Global Hawk drone carried out an hours-long flight along the contact line in Donbass on Sunday.

“This unmanned flying vehicle flies over the territory of Donbass almost every month and its technical characteristics allow carrying out reconnaissance of whole our territory without crossing the contact line,” Marochko said.

Kiev launched a special military operation in Ukraine’s southeast in April 2014, after local residents refused to recognize the new Ukrainian authorities, which came to power as a result of what was recognized by many people as a coup.

In February 2015, a peace agreement was signed between Ukraine’s conflicting sides in the Belarusian capital of Minsk. Despite the fact that the deal stipulates a full ceasefire in Donbas, violations both on the part of Kiev forces and local militia have been reported.
