Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed tens of thousands at a rally in front of Parliament in Ankara, Sunday to mark a year since the attempted coup on July 15.
SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President (Turkish): “We gathered here because of the first year commemoration of the 15th of July, biggest betrayal, invasion and the coup attempt that our country has faced. First of all I ask God’s mercy to the martyrs, brothers who lost their lives in the 15th of July night and want to express my condolences to my people.”
SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President (Turkish): “Ankara and Istanbul being in the first place, I want to thank on behalf of me and my nation to every single one of all my people which didn’t let this coup attempt to to be realised by standing up against tanks. We have engraved a new victory in to our history by breaking the forty years old plans of a betrayal organisation which has the support of the great powers.”
