On the eve of the government troops attacked ISIS militants. As a result of fierce clashes, the Syrian army knocked out terrorists from a military base in southern Syria.
Before the war in Syria in 2010, the country had an extensive network of military airbases – about two dozen. Such a love of aviation may have been partly due to the fact that the previous president and father of the current one, Hafez Assad, himself was once a military pilot, and then a commander of the Syrian Air Force.
With the outbreak of the war, some of these bases were captured by rebels and Islamists. Then, from the constant shelling of the militants, then the government troops, they became partially deteriorated.
