Serbian media reported on the EU, US plans to create a humanitarian center as opposed to the Russian one

In Serbia, base of the Ponikve airfield near the town of Uzice (on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina) may become a shelter for the US and EU humanitarian center, the local newspaper Danas reported today, citing diplomatic sources.

The airport management told journalists that last year they did participate in the competition for the right to build such a center.

It is noted that the Euro-American project will be something like a Russian-Serbian humanitarian center in Nis, which is already functioning and successfully demonstrated itself several times in the fight against natural disasters.

Worth noting that earlier the US ambassador in Belgrade, like the representatives of the State Department, severely criticized the Russian center, even accusing its employees, rescuers and deminers of “espionage”. The statement caused a wide response in Serbia.
