President of Poland wants permanent presence of US troops in his country

Andrzej Duda called the US a guarantor of military security, adding that the presence of American leader Donald Trump in Warsaw is strengthening Poland’s position in the EU.

“I would like the presence of allies, and especially the United States, in our territory to be permanent,” he said on Thursday in an interview with the program “Signals of the Day” on the Polskie radio. “The United States is the guarantor of military security, so their presence is so important,” added Duda.

The head of state also noted that the visit of US President Donald Trump to Warsaw strengthens Poland’s position in the European Union. “The de facto visit to Poland is the second foreign visit of Donald Trump, which clearly shows that we are a country with which we are considered. This visit strengthens our positions in the European Union,” the Polish leader said.
