One young girl was killed and at least twenty-one injured after a fire broke out in Tal al-Sarhoun camp, a Syrian refugee camp in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley early on Tuesday morning.
Seven of those injured are in a critical condition according to statements by the Lebanese Red Cross. Around 20 of the nearly 200 tents in the camp were destroyed by the blaze.
Mayor of the nearby town of Bar Elias Mouwas al-Araji blamed the fire on an electrical malfunction from a blown light bulb.
