Another major cyber attack was launched on companies around the world. Jens Stoltenberg seriously thought about the proclamation of “the mutual position of defense”.
The latest “extortion” of cyber attacks were recognized worldwide as the second wave of the “WannaCry” attack, which hit more than 200,000 users in more than 150 countries in May.
In this regard, the NATO leadership is ready to proclaim the “mutual position of defense” in accordance with Article 5. Jens Stoltenberg said that “the cyber attack in May and this week only emphasizes the importance of strengthening our cyber defense, and that’s exactly what we do.”
Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko, immediately accused Russia of cyber attack and said that “this attack was organized on Tuesday by Russian special services, the purpose of which were Ukrainian companies, and this is one of the elements of the hybrid war against Ukraine.” Ukraine since the coup in Kiev is trying its best to please NATO in the anti-Russian hysteria. Nevertheless, this cyber attack also affected large Russian companies, such as the oil giant Rosneft and steel producer Evraz. And even Reuters noted that malicious software was obtained from a code called “Eternal Blue”, from which it is assumed that this malicious software was developed by the US National Security Agency (NSA).
