A week before the G20 summit in Hamburg, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that it is necessary to avoid protectionism. In a statement, she criticized the policies of US President Donald Trump. Problems such as climate change do not have national boundaries.
“Those who think they can solve the problems of this world through isolationism and protectionism are making a big mistake,” Merkel said in the framework of the government’s statement to the parliament for applause, without mentioning the name of Trump.
Mrs Merkel said that “only together we can find the right answers to the central questions of our time.”
