Iraqi forces seize more ground from IS in Mosul Old City

Iraqi forces captured more areas of Mosul’s Old Town from self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Tuesday as they push to finally oust the militants from the embattled city.

The division seized the al-Mashahda quarter in the north west of the Old City on Tuesday and commander Hussein Suhail estimated that “one square kilometre” of the city remained under IS control.
