The White House just issued a statement for “immediate release”. It claims is sees evidence for a potential Syrian gas strike being prepared.
It is not stated what these preparations are, nor is any evidence or even just sources of this alleged evidence provided.
What is included however, is a threat that if “another” gas attack takes place Trump will again lash out against the Syrian military.

This is insane. Syria dismantled its chemical weapons in a UN-supervised process ending in 2014. Damascus has no reason to resort to such attacks when it is winning the war.
The only thing we can think of is this is Trump’s deranged way of reacting against Seymour Hersh’s recent bombshell story detailing that US intelligence services knew there was no Syrian chemical weapons attack in April and Trump was a self-deluded fool for hitting out at Syrians for an imaginary sarin strike.

Five US defense officials reached by BuzzFeed News said they did not know where the potential chemical attack would come from, and were unaware the White House was planning to release its statement. Usually such statements are coordinated across the national security agencies and departments before they are released.
If you ever needed confirmation that Seymour Hersh’s story was right this is it. Trump is behaving exactly like the stubborn, overly emotional, go-it-alone, moron in chief described in Hersh’s account of the April 6th US missile strike against Syria.
