Anti-NATO protest in Greece

In the Greek city of Thessaloniki, civilians held an anti-war protest near NATO headquarters.

The protesters carried placards and scanned anti-NATO slogans.

The Greek Hellenic Air Force Base, located near the city of Chania, became permanent for the US Air Force. Also on the territory of the base are NATO missile installations.

The protesters expressed the opinion that NATO encourages Turkey’s aggressive behavior, and also creates competition between the Alliance and Russia. They also accused the military bloc of intervention in Syria and Libya, which led to the refugee crisis in Greece.
