Donetsk: Cemetery destroyed by war

Ukrainian forces destroy not only houses of civilians and infrastructure objects in Donetsk, but also monasteries, and even cemeteries.

A striking example is the St. Iversky Women’s Monastery located next to the S. Prokofiev Airport and the Novoignatievskoye Cemetery, located in close proximity to it, which was repeatedly bombarded.

The monastery is in a dilapidated state, the windows are broken by shrapnel, the dome and roof are destroyed. One of the shrines of the monastery is damaged – a list with the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Iversk.

At Novoignatievsky cemetery most of the tombstones were destroyed or damaged, the ground in continuous craters from shells.
