Trump glad he fired “nut job” Comey in FBI mess

Washington, DC. America’s press is freaking out over reports President Donald Trump refered to former FBI Director James Comey as mentally unstable and tried to use humor to diplomatically explain an American internal issue to Russian guests at the White House recently.

Donald Trump remarked to Russian officials that he felt “great pressure because of Russia” that he said was relieved when he fired FBI Director James Comey.

Trump had met with Russian officials on May the 10th after firing Comey the evening before. At the meeting, Trump told them he was no longer under investigation and glad, “the silly son of a bitch was gone. I just fired the head of the FBI he was crazy, a real nut job,” Trump further said.

Not only did firing Comey not get FBI investigators off Trump’s back, but the investigation into possible ties between Russia and his campaign also now apparently includes a close adviser, his son in law-Jared Kushner, who FBI officials are calling a “person of interest.”

The Key targets of the investigation until now have reportedly included former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn and also former Trump campaign Ukrainian bag man Paul Manafort, two people who were part of Trump’s campaign but are not currently part of the administration. Flynn resigned in February after having lied to investigators about his contacts with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak, who was one of the Russian officials Trump met at the White house on May 10.

“President Trump has always emphasized the importance of making deals with Russia as it relates to Syria, Ukraine, defeating ISIS and other key issues for the benefit and safety of the American people,” White House spokesperson Sean Spicer said in a statement.

“By grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia’s actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia,” Spicey continued. “The investigation would have always continued, and obviously, the termination of Comey would not have ended it. Once again, the real story is that our national security has been undermined by the leaking of private and highly classified conversations.”
