Kiev, Ukraine. Trying to be righteous is a hard road for any pious person, but when your whole regime is founded on a denial of civil rights, trying to say others are breaking the rules when you are the number one regime repressing rights in Europe is throwing stones, while living in a glass house.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, during a meeting with the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe drew attention to the existence of “gray zones” on the European continent, whose inhabitants are de facto outside the protection of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Experts were quick to reply that Ukraine had no standing to raise such concerns in the face of the Odessa Massacre, Kiev’s false flag downing of MH-17 in Donbass or it’s use of phosphorus bombs and land mines, both outlawed by international convention, on it’s citizens in “police-anti-terrorist” operations.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted that the Donbass and the Crimea are now ‘the hottest gray areas’ and noted that the Russian-annexed Crimea and the situation in the Donbass clearly demonstrate how one state is able deliberately and purposefully destroy the system of human rights protection on the continent,” the message says.
Russian and the integration republics were quick to point out that; Ukraine ranks 38th in internet freedom, and may now be at 62nd after cutting off Russian net providers yesterday, has just started sentencing persons to jail for disagreement with the war-anti-war protestors in Ukraine are being sent to prison for five years on first time convictions, and just put a person in prison for selling a Soviet era flag for a year.
Klimkin noted the importance of the decision made by Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on May 3rd regarding the situation in the Crimea and Sevastopol and stressed that Ukraine must temporarily suspend civil rights, “for some, to protect many,” as he termed it.
Klimkin did not point out that human rights in Ukraine itself are some of the worst monitored globally, the Poroshenko junta has named city streets after Nazi WWII heroes, armed Nazi terrorist groups and frequently jails its citizens with no due process under “anti-terrorist operation” regulations that have led to the deaths of over 100,000 citizens in Donbass since 2014.
In his speech, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister thanked the Council of Europe for the large-scale program to promote reforms in Ukraine, which is implemented with the direct and substantial financial support of the European Union, who pay billions to Kiev to kill and jail it’s citizens daily.
