The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) considers the sanctions of the Ukrainian authorities against the Russian media as a violation of the freedom of the media.
“Previously, we have repeatedly condemned the violations and restrictions of media freedom in Ukraine. With regard to these new violations, we must first analyze them, while our principled position is that in any case, censorship is not a proper reaction,” the source said.
The IFJ represents more than 600 thousand journalists from 140 countries.
Recall that earlier the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on an expanded list of individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation, in relation to which sanctions were imposed, and this decision extended the duration of sanctions.
