Americans have no idea where North Korea is

Los Angeles, California-USA. Most Americans have heard of Kim Jong-Un or North Korea, but a new American poll of it’s citizens confirms that sadly, most are so stupid they actually have no idea where Korea is on the planet we all share.

Thanks to heavy American news coverage, President Donald Trump’s tweets and speeches, as well as social media sites, it’s likely most Americans are quite aware of the nuclear confrontation that is taking place with North Korea.

But despite the endless news coverage of the North Korean nation’s missile and nuclear defense tests, most Americans cannot find North Korea on a map, a Rasmussen poll released Tuesday showed. The survey was given to 1,000 American adults between April 27 and 30, with a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percentage points.

Only 31 percent of Americans could pinpoint the North’s location on a map. Furthermore, 50 percent don’t believe other Americans could identify the country and 19 percent were unsure even where North Korea is or why it is in the news. Shocking given millions of Americans might die because of the confrontation with the Asian nation.

For those who do not know-North Korea lies in Eastern Asia, just to the south of China and north of South Korea, flanked by the Sea of Japan, the Korea Bay and the Yellow Sea with a population of 25.1 million people. Its landmass is a bit bigger than the American state of North Carolina.

The findings come two months after other polls showed an increase in American voters ready for a military conflict with North Korea, reflecting 37 percent of American adults in favor of a nuclear war with North Korea, compared to 27 percent in December 2014.

The recent survey, clearly shows how poorly American students have performed when their geography skills and knowledge have been tested in the last 20 years. In a recent Program International Student Assessment, conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, found the US ranked 25th and way below par for mathematics. That survey focused on 15-year-olds drawn from 72 countries.
