London, United Kingdom. Having gotten scores of British soldiers killed abroad and having just missed indictment for war crimes in the Hague, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has now expressed a desire to return to politics.
As the UK ex-prime minister himself said in an interview with the newspaper The Daily Mirror, it was prompted by the process of the country’s withdrawal from the European Union. Blair is keen to stop the Brexit any way he can, as it’s goals run counter to the liberal-democratic new world order he served for over 3 decades.
“This thing, Brexit, gave me a direct motivation for more active participation in politics,” he said. “I’m going to take an active part in trying to form a political debate, which means getting out of the country and rejoining the political process.”
“We do not yet know what the final terms of Brexit will be,” Blair said. “The single market put us in the Champions League in the trade, the free trade agreement looks like a drop in the league, we’re retreating.”
The failed British Ex-prime minister accused of war crimes, has separately said that he would not give up his charitable work “seven days a week,” because of politics.
“I do not want to be in a situation where we are going through a historical moment, and I did not say anything, which would mean that I did not care about this country.” It’s not so, “concluded Blair.Others point out Blair “cared” so much about the United Kingdom that he managed to get 75,000 plus British soldiers harmed or killed in wars he plunged the UK into.
