Moldova tells NATO no to what they offer

Chisinau, Moldova. A President of a small country is being a big pain to NATO as he calls out their plans to use his nations’ soldiers in train ing exercises unacceptable.

President Igor Dodon called participation of 50 Moldovan military soldiers in NATO exercises unacceptable.

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova intended to send 50 troops to the exercises in the city of Babadag, where from April 24 to May 4, the Platinum Eagle exercise takes place at the military base, in which the military from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Montenegro, Ukraine and the United States take part.

Dodon has had problems over pro Russian statements in the past. In October 2016, during the presidential election campaign, Igor Dodon affirmed that Crimea, the subject of a territorial dispute between Russia and Ukraine, “is a territory of the Russian Federation”.

By January 2017 Dodon stated that Moldova will not officially recognize Crimea as Russian “I did not change its position does not change and will not change. But we must understand that we need to build friendships with Ukraine, we need to solve the Transnistrian problem.”
