Ivanka Trump dismisses claims she was behind airstrikes on Syria

Ivanka Trump insisted that she was not an influence in her father’s decision to launch an airstrike against Syria in retaliation to the country using chemical gas against its citizens.

“That’s a flawed interpretation,” Ivanka said during her first foreign trip to Germany as assistant to the president.

The first daughter’s remarks are in reference to comments made by her brother, Eric Trump during an interview with the Daily Beast. The president’s son told the outlet that he believed Ivanka played a large role in their father’s decision to launch a missile strike on a Syrian air base.

“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence. I’m sure she said: ‘listen, this is horrible stuff,'” the president’s son said. “My father will act in times like that.”

Although Ivanka acknowledged that she had voiced her opinions to her father, she emphasized that the decision launch the missiles was made by her father, with advice coming from a wide range of government officials.

“His decision was incredibly well-informed and advised at every level.”

Ivanka Trump concluded by noting that she was “proud of the action” and the clear message that the United States will not condone the use of chemical weapons on civilians.
