Washington, DC. Recent reports are painting a very unflattering portrait of infighting within the Trump Administration by the conservative Steve Bannon faction and the neocon liberal faction-driven by Trump’s son in law Jared Kushner. The latest news on the “family feud,” has editors at Bannon’s old media home Breitbart backing down in criticism of Kushner in the face of White House pressure.
Conservative media platform Breitbart editors have reportedly told their reporters to stop criticising White House senior advisor Jared Kushner. Mr Kushner became a target of the far right news site amid reports of a fierce West Wing feud between himself and Stephen Bannon, Breitbart’s former executive chairman who is now Donald Trump’s Chief Strategist.
Informed media sources report, top editors at Breitbart have now instructed their journalists to stop criticising Mr Kushner, the husband of Mr Trump’s daughter Ivanka, in their articles. Breitbart had stopped their attacks on Mr Kushner as of Tuesday. Trump’s daughter is believed to have been the driving force behind the attack upon Syria, according to UK diplomatic cables.
Breitbart has denied suggestions they told their staff not to be critical of Mr Kushner, saying it was “an absurd suggestion that Breitbart would mute critical coverage of any senior White House official.”
Problems between Mr Bannon and Mr Kushner, who are believed to have conflicting ideological visions for the White House, have reached a head recently. Last week it was reported that Mr Bannon labelled Mr Kushner a “worthless sob” and a “neocon globalist” behind his back.
