US kills 7 Syrian refugees in new airstrike

Damascus, Syria. In breaking news, reports are coming in that American military fighter aircraft have struck unarmed refugees in a boat with gunfire, killing at least 7 persons.

Syrian activists opposed to the Islamic State group say aircraft from the US led coalition have struck a boat carrying people fleeing fighting between the extremists and US-backed fighters, killing at least seven civilians.

The organization “Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently” said a refugee boat carrying about 40 people was hit as it was crossing the Euphrates River in the northern province of Raqqa. It said the bodies of a woman and her six children were recovered after American military aircraft had left the area of the atrocity.

The Sound and Picture group that traces atrocities in areas held by ISIS also reported the same casualty estimates, confirming US involvement in the unprovoked attacks upon defenseless civillians upon Syrian inland waterways.

The attack occurred Saturday in the Shuaib al-Zeker area near where US backed ISIS fighters have been on the offensive under the cover of coalition airstrikes.
