Syrian army repels terrorists’ attack, advances in rapid counterattack

 

The Syrian Army troops fended off the fourth round of Al-Nusra Front’s attacks on government forces’ positions in the Southern part of Dara’a city and then managed to drive the terrorists out of their positions in the same district in a rapid counterattack.

The fourth round of operations of Al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) on government forces’ strongholds in Dara’a al-Balad district was repulsed by the army soldiers.

 

Military sources said that the army men further engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra East of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood with the back up of the army aircraft and missile unis.

 

The sources added that the army units managed to advance against Al-Nusra near Balal Habashi grand mosque in al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Dara’a al-Balad district.

 

They went on to say that the terrorists groups fled their positions in al-Manshiyeh and moved towards the neighborhoods of al-Arbaeen and al-Abbasiyeh due to the heavy attack of the army soldiers.

 

The army men also targeted and destroyed a bomb-laden suicide vehicle of the terrorists before it could hit the Syrian army positions in al-Manshiyeh.

 

Another source reported that over 43 terrorists were killed or wounded in the army attacks in the Southern part of Dara’a city, adding that 3 media activists of the terrorist groups and two commanders of Al-Nusra Mohammad Qasim Aba Yazid and Hassan Mohammad al-Hariri were among the dead terrorists.
