Investigative Committee named AFU commander, who used “Tochka-U” against Donbass residents

The Investigative Committee of Russia has established which of the Ukrainian army commanders gave the order to use the Tochka-U missile system against the peaceful population of Donbass, Svetlana Petrenko told reporters.

According to the investigation, Colonel Fedor Yaroshevich, the commander of the 19th separate missile brigade of the All-Ukrainian Armed Forces, was involved in this war crime. It was he who, on August 22, 2014, gave an order to strike a tactical missile at the village of Rovenky, which resulted in the death of three people, including a child.

“The use of indiscriminate weapons can hardly be called an accident. To believe in the explanation of the Ukrainian side about certain malfunctions of the missile control system, while the “Tochka-U” has been used repeatedly under similar conditions, is also impossible”, the representative noted.

The actions of the Ukrainian army violate the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (1949).
