Donetsk water filtering station cut off electricity after shelling by Ukrainian troops

 

The Donetsk water filtering stations has again been cut off electricity supplies after shelling by Ukrainian troops, a spokesman for the operations command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Sunday.

“As a result of mortar shelling on Sunday evening, electricity transmission lines in the vicinity of the Donetsk water filtering station were damaged. The station has been cut off electricity supplies again,” the Donetsk News Agency quoted him as saying.

 

According to the spokesman, the station’s personnel are now being evacuated.

 

Apart from that, shelling by Ukrainian troops cause fire in a private house in the city of Yasinovataya.

 

The Donetsk filtering station came under extensive shelling by Ukrainian troops overnight to February 24. Eight shells hit the station’s facilities, including a chlorine storehouse, a chlorine pipeline, water reservoirs and a bomb shelter. The station was halted, the personnel were evacuated. The DPR operations command said shelling was conducted from heavy weapons located at Ukrainian positions near Avdeyevka.
