Russian and German experts discussed at consultations on Thursday fight against terrorism, exchanging opinions on global and regional terrorist threats, focusing on prospects for bilateral cooperation on fight against terrorism at international venues and through relevant ministries and departments.
“Special attention was paid to the issue of countering the phenomenon of foreign terrorist militants,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The consultations were co-chaired by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov and German Federal Government Commissioner for Disarmament and Arms Control Patricia Flor.
“The Russian side confirmed a need to join efforts of the whole global community in fight against the global threat of terrorism on the basis of international law, UN Charter and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council,” the ministry said.
