Finnish views on possible Nato membership are more uncertain than before, according to a survey published on Wednesday. The poll by Taloustutkimus found that some 28 percent of respondents would not say whether or not they supported Nato membership.
Some 21 percent of those who answered supported Nato membership, while 51 percent said they opposed joining the military alliance.
Women were more uncertain than men, with some 35 percent of female respondents not offering an opinion compared to 21 percent among men.
Some 38 percent of respondents, however, would apply to join Nato if Sweden did, while 44 percent of those who answered were opponents of allying with the US-led bloc even if Finland’s western neighbour joined.
