More than two million residents of Donbass were forced to leave their homes since the conflict began in the region, according to a Friday press release from the UN Agency for refugees.
“Since the conflict began in 2014, more than two million people were forced to leave their homes and seek refuge within the country and abroad. Almost 800 thousand people, including elderly persons and other vulnerable categories, which are on the boundary line or close to it, in need of assistance”, stated in the message.
According to the Ministry of social policy of Ukraine, the number of internally displaced persons from the conflict zone in the Donbass is 1,785 million.
