Spain: Two men were arrested for financing terrorism

 

The Spanish Civil Guard arrested two men today in the city of Girona, Catalonia, for allegedly helping to fund the terrorist organization Islamic State.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior confirmed the arrest of two Moroccan brothers.

 

The men, 33 and 22 respectively, were sending funds to economic managers of Islamic State in Syria an Iraq, the Department of Interior reported.

 

Since Spain raised the terror alert to level four on June 26, 2015, the Spanish armed forces strengthened all investigations related to the Islamic State structures for propaganda and recruitment.

 

So far this year, nearly thirty people were arrested in Spain for their alleged ties with terrorism.
