Serbia: People against NATO and EU, poll says

 

Half of Serbian citizens said the Russian model of society is most suitable to their country, and the overwhelming majority are against accession into NATO, has shown a recent study of the Institute of European Affairs, entitled “Serbia after Brexit – where citizens see the state”.

It is noteworthy that the smallest number of NATO supporters are among young people of 18-29 years old – 9.8%, and among the pensioners over 60 years old – 13.2%. 

 

Also, the survey showed that 29% of the population recognizes Crimea as part of Russia, and this opinion is shared by 59% of young people 18-29 years old.

 

As for the potential membership of Serbia in the European Union, 80% of respondents answered that they would not have traded the southern Serbian province of Kosovo to join the EU.
