Bulgarian diaspora in Ukraine requires a territorial autonomy

Bulgarian diaspora in Ukraine appealed to the President Petro Poroshenko with a call to provide the territorial autonomy to the Bulgarians in Odessa and Kherson regions. This was stated by one of the Bulgarian Diaspora of Ukraine leaders Yuriy Palichev.

“The idea of the autonomy to the Crimean Tatars voiced by Poroshenko substantially changes the constitutional field of Ukraine, creates an important precedent. Bulgarians of Ukraine who live in certain areas, also get the right to autonomy. All the nations of our country should be equally protected and take full advantage of rights, which fully complies with the Constitution and current legislation of Ukraine”, said in the appeal of the Bulgarian community.

The Community also hopes that Poroshenko will be guided by the same principles to all the nations living in Ukraine.

Previously, the Assembly of Bukovina Romanians appealed to Poroshenko with a call to endow the territory of compact residence of the Romanians in the Chernivtsi region with the status of territorial autonomy.
