Damascus is ready for any negotiations on settling the situation in Syria, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad told Sputnik.
“If you ask me if today’s Damascus is ready to resume negotiations, then my answer would be yes. It is ready for any talks and our national authorities constantly reiterate the adherence to the political settlement because the people of Syria have the right to decide their own fate,” the ambassador said in an interview.
The latest Syrian talks were held in Geneva in April, and were canceled after The High Negotiations Committee (HNC) walked out over the continuous fighting in Syria and a lack of progress on humanitarian issues.
