American reconnaissance plane flew to the coast of the Murmansk region. This was reported by foreign websites which are tracking the movement of military aircrafts.
According to them, a reconnaissance plane RC-135S took off from “Mildenhall” air base in the UK and is currently performing the task in the Barents Sea. It is planned that the aircraft will stay in the air for about 12 hours, four of them – near the Russian border.
On May 22, a similar aircraft with transponders turned off, was pushing reconnaissance over the Sea of Japan close to the Russian border. And besides it flew at altitudes intended for the civil aviation. After that, US military attache was summoned to the Russian Defense Ministry to give explanations. The Russian Security Council said that because of such cases the probability of emergency significantly increases.
Meanwhile, the US believe that the plane did not break any rules.
