Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said he would leave his post if ties between Ankara and IS would be proven.
Thus Çavuşoğlu expressed dissatisfaction with Sergei Lavrov’s statement that a large area of the Syrian-Turkish border is controlled by the Islamic State with the connivance of Ankara.
“Mr. Lavrov you are a serious diplomat and one of the most experienced among the participants of this meeting. Therefore, I believe that you should not have to take seriously this kind of fiction. If Russia has at least one proof of Turkish support for IS, I am ready to resign. If not, then you’ll stay as our guest in Antalya for the rest of yours natural life”, said Çavuşoğlu.
