Greece will support lifting of Russian sanctions on EU meeting

Greece intends to advocate for the lifting of sanctions against Russia during the discussion of this issue in the EU. This was stated by the deputy head of the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Ksidakis.

Nikos Ksidakis

“The position of Greece is that sanctions hurt the mutual European-Russian relations and not giving any benefits. Just saved the atmosphere of tension. Our point of view – the sanctions should be lifted. This is our old position”, said Ksidakis.

He noted that the authorities have already discussed this issue with partners. In June, at the EU summit would be discussed the possibility of extending the sanctions against Russia.
