Visa-free regime for short-term (up to 90 days) traveling to the EU does not mean that the Ukrainians will be eligible to work in the member countries of the European Union.
On Wednesday, the European Commission issued a legislative initiative on the introduction of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, the proposal will go to the European Parliament and the EU Council.
“Cancellation of visas does not grant the right to work”, said the source.
On December 18, 2015, the European Commission reported that Ukraine has fulfilled all conditions for visa liberalization with the EU. In mid-January, a senior European diplomat told reporters that a number of EU countries are not ready to abolish visas for Ukrainian citizens, because Ukraine is not fighting corruption enough effectively.
