Afghanistan: Blast in Kabul Most Likely Car Bomb

 

A heavy explosion took place in the Pul-e-Mahmood Khan area of Kabul, where the Afghan Ministry of Defense is located. The blast reportedly left six people dead.

 

“As we’ve been told, this was most likely from a vehicle [laden] with explosives,” the Russian Embassy’s press center told RIA Novosti.

 

Head of the Public Health Ministry’s media department Ismael Kawosi confirmed that 198 people were injured in the explosion, A​​ccording to TOLOnews. The channel’s correspondent published a list of the victims’ names on his Twitter account.

 

 

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said earlier the explosion had targeted the offices of the country’s main security agency.
