Lavrov: Turkish-Syrian Border Must Be Sealed to Curtail Terrorist Movement

The Turkish-Syrian border must be sealed off in order to curtail terrorist movements, Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

“A special task is to stop the reinforcement of terrorists from outside, and it’s necessary to close the border between Syria and Turkey, used to deliver weapons to criminals, including in columns with humanitarian aid, while journalists reporting about this are brought to court and sentenced to prison for many years. This, by the way, concerns the freedom of speech,” Lavrov said.
