The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard is on a roll inside the Latakia Governorate’s northern countryside, capturing several sites from the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the Turkmen Mountains (Jabal Al-Turkmen) this morning.
According to the battlefield correspondent Eyad Al-Hussein, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies imposed full control over Beit Sakr and the Electronic Battalion base in the Turkmen Mountains after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels.
Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are advancing north towards the Turkish border, which is also the Islamists final supply route to the Latakia Governorate – firefights are ongoing near the strategic town of Al-Rabi’yah.
