Former German FM Klaus Kinkel: Ukraine won’t join NATO

Ukraine won’t join NATO, Kiev have to make a decisive contribution to the preservation and realization of the Minsk agreements to resolve the conflict in Donbass, said former FM and former Vice-Chancellor of Germany Klaus Kinkel.

“I personally do not think that Ukraine will join NATO”, – said Kinkel.

“I think now it is very important to maintain and implement the Minsk Agreements on both sides. Ukraine must play a crucial part in this”, – he added.

Speaking about the causes of the Ukrainian crisis, Kinkel said that “the West, Europe are also not entirely blameless in this situation”.

Europe has pushed Ukraine to the dilemma “Eyes on either Russia or looking up to Europe”. It was wrong”, – he added.
