Axis of Logic: “The media is the only support of the so-called US ‘power'”

The US independent publication Axis of Logic wrote about how and why the image of Russia is distorted in the Western media. The relations between Washington and Moscow are in decline against the backdrop of the political events that are happening in the world, but there is still hope that the cooperation between the two countries will be resumed sooner or later. One of the decisive factors in creating an image of Russia as a country that ‘threatens security’ of the US and Europe is the Western media, giving the facts in a completely distorted way.

The Events in Kiev and the subsequent annexation of Crimea to Russia are considered exclusively as an aggression from the Kremlin’s side, but in fact, the events in the capital of Ukraine were provoked by the interests of the Western countries that had decided to change the leaders of the country, and the residents of Crimea made their own decision to join the Russian Federation. However, the Western readers will never know what happened and is happening in reality. For example, the fact is that Vladimir Putin is not perceived as an aggressor in his country. Most of the population of Russia consider him a reasonable leader, who acts in the interests of the state. The same can not be said about the Western leaders.

A recent survey in the UK showed that 4 out of 5 citizens of Great Britain would vote for Putin, not for the current Prime Minister David Cameron, if they had a choice. Most likely, similar results could be observed in the US, where the current administration headed by Barack Obama does not do anything for people, but actively participates in all international conflicts, and often provokes them.

The image of Russia as an enemy is beneficial for the American elite, because combating an external threat, you can distract people from serious internal problems. Moreover, against the background of the failure of the United States in the settlement of the Syrian conflict, Russia looks very profitable, skillfully fighting terrorism and restoring order in the Middle East. If America has recognized its failure in Syria, it would mean that the USA can not be considered as a world leader. Thus, the Western media is the only support of the so-called US ‘power’.

However, the American leaders urgently need to revise their tactics towards Russia. In fact, Moscow is exactly that partner that Washington needs in the fight against international terrorism, which at any moment could be real, not fictional threat to the US population.

The US think tank of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy wrote about the way the relations will develop between Iran and Saudi Arabia. According to the expert of the Institute, what is happening between the two countries can be called only a war. It is likely that in the future this trend will continue, though there would not be an open military confrontation, but indirectly, the country will be in a state of protracted conflict.

In this situation, the most unpleasant thing for Saudi Arabia is that Iran has the advantage not only on its territory, but also in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, the population of which is represented by the Shiite majority. If there is an open conflict, Iran will get access to the oil-rich regions of Saudi Arabia.

For its part, Riyadh could increase support for rebel groups in Syria, which can result that Assad’s regime that is protected Iran could be overthrown, and Tehran would lose influence in Damascus. Although neither Saudi Arabia, nor Iran consider an open war, there is always a possibility of collisions at their common borders, which would aggravate the situation in the Middle East further more.

One way or another, but the conflict between the two countries has been developing over the years, and the only thing that can be done by the international community at the moment is an attempt to redirect an aggression between the two countries to the fight against terrorism, which only benefits, when there are conflicts between the countries of the Middle East region.
