Denmark extends border control on border to Germany

The Danish government Wednesday decided to extend the temporary border control on the country’s border to Germany by 20 days to Feb. 3, the Integration Ministry said in a press release.

The government had initially implemented a 10 days temporary border control as an reaction to a similar step from neighbouring Sweden.

“The assessment is that there is still a risk that a large number of illegal immigrants accumulate in Denmark,” the ministry said.
