UNSC adopts resolution on reaching a political solution for crisis in Syria

The UN Security Council evening adopted in a unanimous vote during a session on Friday a resolution on reaching a political solution for the crisis in Syria.

In a speech at the session, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated that comprehensive inter-Syrian dialogue is the way to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people, affirming that Syria must remain a secular state and that only the Syrian people can decide Syria’s future.

US State Secretary John Kerry also said the Syrian people will decide their own destiny, and that a solution can’t be imposed from outside.
