The case a century ago: the world again talking about the armenian genocide in 1915

Attempting the destruction of the Armenian population in 1915-1923, the Turkish leaders had intended to eliminate the Armenian people and to seize all their property. The genocide carried out by Turkey, meant the mass extermination and deportation of the Armenian population of Western Armenia, Cilicia and other provinces of the Ottoman Empire.

After a long time the extermination of the Armenians in 1915 genocide officially recognized by 29 countries, among which Russia, France, Canada, Austria, Cyprus, Italy, and most States of the USA.

In November 2013, the then Prime Minister Rejep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara would continue to support Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the main issues on the agenda of Turkey’s foreign policy. It is impossible that Ankara would have this question without attention”, — said the Prime Minister of Turkey, noting their active support to Azerbaijan.

Emerged in 1988 the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan ended in 1994, when the parties have reached a ceasefire. However, Azerbaijan still has claims to Armenia regarding Nagorno-Karabakh, which Baku considers its. April 22, 2015 Vladimir Putin has sent to the attendees of the “World without genocide” welcoming telegram.

“April 24, 1915 — the mournful date associated with one of the most terrible and dramatic events in human history — the genocide of the Armenian people”, — is spoken in the address of the Kremlin.

“Russia’s position has been and remains unbiased and consistent: mass extermination on a national basis cannot be justified. The international community must ensure that such atrocities never happen again,” the President said

Putin recalled that “it was the Russian diplomacy that has achieved international condemnation of violence against the Armenian people”. However, the Turkish foreign Ministry strongly disagreed. The Turkish side strongly condemned the speech of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, turning the facts in the opposite direction.

“We reject and condemn the definition of “genocide”, which, despite all our warnings and appeals, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin gave to the events of 1915″, — stressed in the Ministry.

The Turkish diplomats tried subtly to hint the actions that “Russia undertook in the Caucasus, in Central Asia and in Eastern Europe in the last century” more fall under the interpretation of the genocide.

After the incident with the SU-24 plane shot down November 24, 2015 Turkish BCC, the relationship between Russia and Turkey has deteriorated sharply. Turkey has been trying to blame Russia; supposedly their plane violated the airspace. In response, Russia has provided evidence that the aircraft followed its course and absolutely did not threaten the Turkish side.

After this, Russia has launched sanctions against Turkey. Turkey’s President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan immediately criticized Moscow’s plans concerning these economic measures. The Turkish government has waited his turn and also made some loud statements. So, the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said that Ankara will continue to support Azerbaijan in its aspiration to join Nagorno-Karabakh. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, intends to hold talks with Azerbaijani authorities in Baku.

Thus, the Turkish side recalled how in late April the Russian President urged to establish responsibility for the denial of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Empire in 1915.
