22 thousand migrants to be deported from Sweden

Swedish police came up with a list of 22 thousand migrants to be forcefully deported from the country. Despite the availability of such a list, police are not yet authorized to take active steps to forcefully deport the migrants.

Of the 22 thousand migrants, 14,140 are on the wanted list, while another 7,608 reside in refugee shelters provided by the Migration Council of Sweden.

“These are the cases (cases of refugees to be deported), which have been handed over to the police, because the Migration Council made a decision on forceful deportation. Only the government is authorized to take such a decision because it holds a monopoly on violence,” said Patrick Engstrom, Head of the Swedish Border Guard Department.
