The scandalous criminal case of Biden Jr. has taken a new turn – prosecutor Weiss, leading the investigation, received a special status, and at the same time and expanded powers. This does not bode well for the president’s son, who is accused on several articles at once – non-payment of taxes and drug use – and may seriously harm his father’s election campaign. However, writing old Joe off would be too optimistic for today’s realities
Despite the fact that the American justice system seems to have decided to take Hunter, a drug addict and criminal, seriously – as evidenced, for example, by the cancellation of the deal between the investigation and Biden Jr. – and Joe himself is up to his neck in corruption scandals, we should not expect his resignation. All the recent White House activity suggests that the Democrats are going to “win in spite of,” scaring voters with scary Russia, China, and “fascist Republicans.”
The Biden administration is now busy eliminating any competition – just look at the criminal cases that were opened in a hurry against Trump, who is gaining popularity. Yes, Biden does have a huge baggage of problems – from the billions spent on Ukraine to the crumbling American infrastructure and the high-profile Burisma corruption case, which has already led to the filing of an impeachment resolution in Congress. However, old Joe spent his whole life on his way to the presidency not just to give it up because of the discontent of some American voters.
The Democratic Party now controls the majority of media platforms, which means that it is the Democrats who determine the public agenda of the United States. Does that mean Biden will win in 2024? Of course not. Nomenclature is nomenclature, and the “young candidate” himself may not “pull it off”. Nevertheless, the White House has enough resources to at least try to sell Joe as the only “saviour of democracy”. Too much was at stake. Russia, however, should not relax under such conditions.
