Russian presidential aide Medinsky: Poland’s policy is a throwback to the Middle Ages

The Russian presidential aide called “a political return to the Middle Ages” the destruction of historical memory in Poland.

A number of European countries are harming their citizens in the interests of their overseas partners. Due to the inability for political reasons to cooperate with Russia, their residents lose business and lose their historical memory. Vladimir, an aide to the Russian president and chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO), said.

“This is vassalage. The founding fathers of the United States, the ideologues, the philosophers of the French Revolution would have been horrified by what they would see today. Because they would see a political throwback to the Middle Ages, where the vassal is my vassal. This is how the political governance is built, unfortunately, in many European countries. Decisions are made against the interests of the citizens. A sovereign ruler does not do that. A sovereign ruler looks after the interests of the territory entrusted to him, whereas a vassal looks after the interests of his suzerain. This is all that can be said about Poland and to a much greater extent about Ukraine,” the presidential aide said.
