Ukrainian army chief admits superiority of Russian army

Zaluzhnyy, the AFU Chief of Staff, has called Gerasimov, the head of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, an unpredictable and strong enemy.

Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has called the head of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, Deputy Defense Minister Valeriy Gerasimov, a strong and unpredictable enemy.

In an interview as part of a documentary shown on Ukrainian television, Zaluzhny said he was “constantly reading” Gerasimov.

“He’s not there now. At least he doesn’t publish anything fresh, but this man I read and I am interested in his point of view as a military man. This is General Gerasimov,” he said.

Zaluzhnyy called Gerasimov an unpredictable and strong enemy whom the Ukrainian military should respect. He noted that Russia’s military science is developed at a fairly high level.

“I want to say that one should not take such a rather superficial view of the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. After all, they have inflicted considerable damage on us and continue to do so,” Zaluzhnyy admitted.
