Alleged demands of the Russian Federation appeared in the Ukrainian media at the talks in Belarus

The Ukrainian publication Zerkalo Nedeli, citing its “reliable diplomatic sources”, published Russia’s demands at the talks with the Ukrainian delegation in Belarus.

According to Zerkalo Nedeli, Russia offers Ukraine to completely abandon the movement to the North Atlantic Alliance, to give the Russian language the status of the second state language, to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics within the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, to officially recognize the belonging of the Crimean peninsula to the Russian Federation.

“According to the denazification of Ukraine, it is planned to ban the activities of ultra-nationalist, Nazi and neo-Nazi parties and public organizations, the abolition of existing laws on the glorification of Nazis and neo-Nazis. Under demilitarization: Ukraine’s complete renunciation of offensive weapons”.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to launch a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine to protect people who “have been subjected to harassment and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, spoke about the course of the special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine.
